That press conference was choreographed for an audience of one and he sits in Moscow.

Once, we fought tyrants. Today Trump and Vance are bending America’s knee. And that weakens us.

A new era of government censorship has begun.
It started with the silencing of scientific speech, when the admin blocked release of research on bird flu. But MAGA has also cracked down on other wrongthink—on race, geography (!), and of course Trump himself

The New Republic has kindly published what the LA Times and its RFK Jr-supporting billionaire owner Pat Soon-Shiong tried to suppress: newrepublic.com/article/1910...
The RFK Jr. Op-Ed the Los Angeles Times Didn’t Want You to Read
Eric Reinhart submitted a column critical of RFK Jr. to the troubled newspaper. What they printed under his byline bore little resemblance to what he submitted.

Trump will impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico for no good reason.

So in general I don't love to react to every appointment and proposal and comment--I think it can get overwhelming and doesn't really serve us well as journalists or our readers, but... (1/5)

2024’s other big loser? The mainstream media. Is there any path forward? | Will Bunch
As an electorate besieged by disinformation turned to Trump, trust in traditional media has imploded. What comes next?

It's amusing that people voted for Trump because they were upset about rising prices. Yet, now they're going to get higher prices from tariffs.

Trump's proposed tariffs could raise prices for consumers and slow spending
President-elect Donald Trump has proposed stiff tariffs on imported goods, which could lead to higher prices and softer spending.

I expect racists to feel even more emboldened now after this election.

My prediction for the next 4 years.

- More tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
- More tariffs.
- Trump's and Miller's massive deportation plan that leads to American citizens being deported for being Hispanic. (Some of these will be Trump supporters)

Winning the House might be the only good story tonight.

We'll see how much the Supreme Court allows Trump to get away with.

I'm a bit annoyed seeing all the "wait until morning" and "stop doom scrolling" comments on BlueSky.

At least be realistic about the election results.

I'm seeing a lot of people still trying to be optimistic about Harris' chances. I wish I could be.

Harris is under performing Biden in a lot of counties, across the country.

A reminder of what the Trump years were like.

Feels accurate.
We're a year away from the next Presidential election and I think about how we'll look at this period if Trump wins.

We'll look back at how our legal system and media failed us.

North Carolina looking less and less promising for Harris. She'll need to really run up the vote in Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham.

she can absolutely still win via the blue wall but just for fucking once I would like to be pleasantly surprised by results with Trump on the ballot and once again it's worse than expected and I am fucking tired of it

Harris currently under performing Biden in Anson County, NC. Harris with only 49.1% with 86.3% in.

Biden won this county 51.8%.
November 6, 2024 at 1:44 AM
There's more good news out of North Carolina. Harris has 57.6 in Chatham County with 89.8% in. Biden only got 55.2%.
