Local governments run the elections. They are not generally overwhelmed by MAGA totalitarians. Some are, but even Republican areas generally take voting seriously. I have plenty of concerns but expect a fair vote. I am also a pathological optimist. Keep that in mind.

Donald Trump should take note. He will not. My hope is that his mad emperor routine is nearing an end. He is killing Americans now. Not in the numbers like Iran, but it is happening and has been happening.

I have said the end of the empire is coming. I think breakup is inevitable. Moscow and St. Petersburg will be the core of a much smaller Muscovy which will no longer be able to exist on parasitism.

I do not know what to think. Maduro was vile. Hurting Putin is good. But Trump is a damn criminal. The ends do not justify the means. And the ends, meaning peace in Ukraine, will only happen after Putin is gone.

Ukraine clearly has a systematic plan it is following. I am looking forward to what they do as they put Flamingos and other cruise missiles into service and refine their capabilities and accuracy.

I do not believe Putin will ever agree to full peace, nor will he honor any ceasefire for longer than it takes to reload. His power and his life are riding on a war dependent economy. There will be war as long as there is Putin.

They have been serfs for generations. I do not know how to raise them out of abject, obedient serfdom. That must happen for anything to change. They show no sign of raising themselves.
