Just back from a trip to London and I noticed this too (although you get off the bus nowhere near the driver...). I can also report that 2 people gave up their seats for us on the train, and someone else offered to carry our bags down the steps at a tube station!

As regular visitors to Bachfest in Leipzig, and radio 3 listeners, we were delighted to go to the book launches of @hannahcfrench.bsky.social and Michael Maul. What an enjoyable hour that was! Obviously we bought both books.

You do seem to be having (so far🤞) gorgeous weather. And as someone who usually avoids boats, I think even I might not get seasick on that calm water!
