Colleen Jone's CBC item was shared widely on social media and drew much needed attention to the fallling levels at Williams Lake. Her efforts were in no small part responsible for the public awareness that has resulted in the work now being taken to replace the failing dam. /1

The Shaw Wilderness Park – Trail Temporarily Closed
When: March 17 to 31, 2025.
Time: Work is during daylight hours.
Where: The trail from the parking lot to the dam will be
closed.
Why: To prepare for the rebuild of the Williams Lake dam.

Nature Conservancy of Canada/HRM have not yet made a formal announcement about the “Etu’qamikejk Trail” in the SWP (Shaw Wilderness Park)* but the signs have been up for a few months. Here’s some info. about the name and the place.
