We have so much to be thankful for if we just take the time to consider how much worse everything could actually be. 🙏

If you like an author's work, the best thing you can do is buy it. The second best thing you can do is ask your local library to buy it. Or, do both!
A reminder that the median book deal for a debut author in the UK is £7000, paid over 12-18 months. (from 2022 Society of Authors report). Some of your favourite writers are struggling. societyofauthors.org/2022/12/06/a....

I don’t need an HDTV I need an ADHDTV that knows when I break eye contact to play on my phone and has a button that skips my show right back to that point

This is our first cat, and we've had a number of them, that plays fetch. He *loves* it. And this purple raccoon toy is his favorite.

The mail delivered a new book today! Though someone (Oliver) felt the need to curl up with it first. We're excited and grateful, thank you, @charliejane.bsky.social.

Charlie Jane's one of our favorite authors and an automatic pre-order. Her books are entertaining af, but it's the humanity, empathy, call it what you will, which undergirds them that stays with you.

As an aside, I love "Citizen of Literature" and am considering co-opting it. #WritingCommunity

My most recent guilty pleasure is Christopher Elbow's (likely the best chocolate in Kansas City) coffee from The Roasterie (also Kansas City). Almost as good as a new pen and notebook. (Almost, let's not get crazy.) #coffee #chocolate #writingcommunity
