Have you seen our new 'Jomon: Then and Now' display in the Japan Gallery of our Oriental Museum? The Jomon people are best known for their vibrant ceramics, the oldest in Japan. Etsuko Ichikawa's 'JOMON Vitrified' is made from Uranium glass and changes colour under UV light.

Have you seen our new 'Jomon: Then and Now' display in the Japan Gallery of our Oriental Museum? The Jomon people are best known for their vibrant ceramics, the oldest in Japan. Etsuko Ichikawa's 'JOMON Vitrified' is made from Uranium glass and changes colour under UV light.

Finally finishing Irokawa Daikichi’s Culture of the Meiji Period.
It’s a book that as a reference I must have finished twice over, but I’ve never just sat down and read it cover to cover.
