ADHD UK CEO Henry Shelford:

1 in 9 of those with ADHD have a diagnosis. 0.32% of the population.

We have underdiagnosis not overdiagnosis.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men with ADHD will at some point try to take their own life. We have shorter lives on average.
ADHD is not over diagnosed - too often it goes under the radar
Right now, it feels like the government is at war with mental health, with ADHD the preferred punching bag.

This is simply not good enough. Nowhere near equal to the situation we find ourselves in.
The UK's '2.5% of GDP by 2027' announcement is welcome. But let's be clear. That trajectory essentially allows the MoD to maintain programmes & plug growing holes in existing force structure, rather than any dramatic change, such as backfilling for American assets in Europe.

His insistence that he took the "hard" decision to fund it through a cut to the aid budget is utter, utter horseshit. He took the easy, immoral, short-sighted choice: an unpopular spending programme which helped the world's poor.

🧵This from @jburnmurdoch.bsky.social links to probably biggest thing I've changed my mind on in last 5 years: the merits of working (or study) from home. Initially in post pandemic rows on it I tended to think loud critics of WFH were opening another culture war front & many did frame it that way!
