A few days ago we noticed a nest of baby birds hidden behind a wreath in our door. Last night they were out of the nest sitting on the wreath. This morning the nest was empty. But don’t worry, this isn’t causing me to project any feelings about my own kids growing up AT ALL.

The plugin design tools for @usetrmnl.com are pretty great. I was able to build my first plugin on a virtual device while waiting for the hardware to arrive. Can't wait to actually see it!

After a break for putting up Christmas decorations I'm back at it and the cluster has been bootstrapped. Running the conformance tests and then I'll probably call it a day. The only other thing I want to do before really using the cluster is try to set up a floating ip for the k8s api endpoint

Initially I got 4 of the official PoE hats but for the 1 replacement I got a third party hat from GeeekPi. Now I kinda wish I’d gotten 4 of those. Takes up less space, leaves room for more heat sinks, keeps most gpio pins exposed, and has some nice blue leds too

Good news: The PoE hats arrived today
Bad news: I misaligned the pins when putting one on and snapped off the 4-pin header.
Worse news: When I was holding up the header to see if it could be resoldered I dropped it and haven’t found it. Looks like I may have to order another.
