I mean, straight away, if Avatar had a moment that gets referenced as much as the Ben Hur chariot race scene, then no one could claim that it had no impact. The Sting's ending twist, that the "FBI agents" are actually fellow con-men in on it, gets referenced all the time.

James Cameron's movies excluding Avatar, tend to punch ABOVE their weight in this. Think how many times "I'll be back" or "Hasta la vista" or "I'm the king of the world!" or "paint me like one of your French girls" gets referenced.
