Made off with a nice haul of classic National Geographics at a community book sale this weekend. Got the famous one with the spooky-lookin' lady on the cover and that cool holographic skull 💀. Reminders of better days.

The first proper meal I've cooked in our new, little bear den. #Beef #stew with mushrooms, potatoes, baby carrots, caramelized onions, a big beef roast, one can of Cream of Celery soup, a packet of onion soup, and a 1/3 cup of red wine. Cooked on Low in the Crock-Pot over eight hours. #food
My triumph: a juicy and savory beef stew served in a tastefully understated Denby bowl. Everything a growing boy needs is contained within.

I've long outgrown Frank Herbert's "DUNE" books, but Asimov's "Foundation" seems to be taking its place (due entirely to the fantastic Apple TV+ show).
Also, Jared Harris has fast become one of my favourite actors.
