That doesn't apply for MUFC or Real Madrid. Both those clubs make their money from selling their name. "Official yacht of Manchester United", "Official very expensive liqueur of Manchester United". They make WAY more money from that than they do from TV money from UCL or PL.

Maybe we're agreeing very loudly. PSR just doesn't matter to ownership because playing in Europe doesn't matter because the TV money doesn't matter, and the gate money doesn't matter. MUFC is no longer a football club. It's a brand that's simply famous for being famous. They make money by marketing.

Hearing pundits complaining about how Man U. is run is infuriating because they believe the team on the pitch being better is good for the owners. They're 1 of 2 clubs on Earth that can stop playing football altogether and still make money. Owners' priorities are not the fans' priorities anymore.
