This week is @solveme.bsky.social’s Advocacy Week when our advocates, including ME Action GA’s wonderful advocates, speak with Senators, Representatives and their staffs about the needs of the ME/CFS community. I am no longer healthy enough to participate, but I am so thankful for those who can.

The “yuppie flu” name had started long before the Newsweek article, but I think that a lot of people saw it there for the first time. That issue was the most popular Newsweek of the year.

I am 75 years old today. I was 33 when I became sick with ME/CFS. I was diagnosed 5 years later after steadily declining and becoming unable to work. I have never had a remission. The past 3 years have been the worst. But I found community in 1988 and I am still here.
