Here's a #NonSequitur cartoon I did just for this era...oh, wait... this was published 22 years ago. Nothing changes when republicans are running the government.

Economists: Tariffs will raise prices on everything.
Trump: No it won't!
E: Yes it will.
T: NO IT WON'T!
E: Yes...it...WILL.
T: NO...IT...WON'T!
E: The cost of everything just went up.
T: Ok, I'll lower the tariffs...but that doesn't mean I'm wrong!
E: Yes, it does.
T: DOES NOT!
E: *sigh*
T: I WIN!

Speaking of Trump eliminating employment reports, has anyone else noticed that billionaires have stopped calling themselves "job creators"?
November 14, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Seriously, did ANYONE honestly believe that Epstein committed suicide? The problem, of course, is that this DOJ is committed to protecting Trump...who is the benefactor of Epstein being permanently silenced, along with the means to make it happen.
It's what mob bosses do.

I see no reason for President Petro to insult barbarians like that.
November 13, 2025 at 8:05 PM
Trump is a 34-count convicted felon for fraud, centering his just making up numbers to defraud banks on the value of his properties. Now he's doing it to the entire country.
Kevin Hassett on the October jobs report: "We'll maybe be able to concoct something, but we'll never actually know for sure what the unemployment rate was in October."
November 13, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Repubs abandoned Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection. It was thought that was the end for him, so I'm not assuming this will be either.
My fear is, he’ll pull a Netanyahu on some poor country, declare himself a war president, and republicans will grant him complete authority over everything.
November 13, 2025 at 2:23 PM
In 4 years and 9 months of being the POTUS, Trump has had 4 government shutdowns, 2 of them the longest in history, each far exceeding any previous shutdown. Yet this is somehow completely overlooked by MSM. Pretty sure it'd be different if it was Obama or Biden.
November 13, 2025 at 1:59 PM
Remember how republicans launched a huge investigation over "Whitewater", a little land deal the Clinton's made long before running for office and how MSM merrily went along with it on a daily basis? Now here we are...
Pull up a seat America 🔆☕

NYT headline:
"The Shutdown Is Over. When Will Things Get Back to Normal?"

It appears the good folks at the NYT haven't noticed that "normal" left the building on Jan. 20th.

One aspect surrounding the Epstein files is the alleged suicide of Jeffery Epstein. His brother, Mark, has been trying get an investigation opened on it, but has been stonewalled. Why? Personally, I never bought it. WAY too many sketchy things. Mob bosses put a hit on possible squealers.

Watched the swearing in of Rep. Adelita Grijalva and her first address to Congress. LOVE HER! She went right for Trump's and republicans throats. No mincing words and trying to play nice. THIS is what the Democratic party so desperately needs.
November 12, 2025 at 9:27 PM
The disclosure here that dealing with the Epstein files in the situation room speaks volumes.
Q: "Why are White House officials…meeting with Rep. Boebert in an effort to try to get her to not sign this petition calling for the release of the [Epstein] files?"

Leavitt: "I'm not going to detail conversations that took place in the situation room."
November 12, 2025 at 8:47 PM
The bullshit is powerful in this one, Obi-Wan...

Via NYT:
"Johnson to Seat Grijalva, Seven Weeks After She Was Elected
Speaker

Mike Johnson had refused to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva, a Democrat of Arizona, claiming he lacked the power to do so."
November 12, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Can't wait to hear Mike Johnson's excuse for still not swearing in Adelita Grijalva after government reopens and Congress is called into session.

And, once again, accepting a pardon is a plea of guilty, so all of these assholes have just plead guilty to the state charges.
Trump pardons Giuliani, Eastman, Powell and other allies in the effort to overturn the 2020 election. Since he can only grant clemency for federal crimes, though, the pardons will not protect them from state charges. Can the president pardon his conspirators in an on-going crime? Yes, apparently.

The timing is right to remove Schumer as Minority Leader and replace him with Sheldon Whitehouse.
Yeah, no shit.
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"
November 10, 2025 at 2:18 PM
Why electing a businessman w/no govt. experience is stupid.

Via WaPo:
"Justice Department struggles as thousands exit — and few are replaced
The department has lost thousands of experienced attorneys and backfilled a fraction of the open jobs, in part because of a lack of qualified candidates."
November 10, 2025 at 2:10 PM
The bad news is, Schumer is still a spineless clown who brings a lemon meringue pie to a gun fight with republicans.

The good news is, the shutdown has nothing to do with anything in the Senate bill. The shutdown is entirely about keeping the Epstein Files sealed. The House won't pass it.
November 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM
“That would surely be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible,” said Karoline Leavitt, press secretary for the Republican president."

Once again, Trump taking credit for something Biden did.
November 9, 2025 at 5:28 PM
@gottalaff.bsky.social
I'm likely not the first one to suggest this, but perhaps the easiest way for democrats getting republicans to keep the ACA untouched is to just rebrand it as "Trump Care" and take credit for its popularity. You just KNOW Trump would be on board with that.
November 9, 2025 at 2:45 PM
"I graduated from Warton #1 in my class"
"The Apprentice" was the #1 rated show in history"
And now this. Trump's lifelong mantra is, "If you just say it, people will believe it".

The truly sad, and horrifying for the rest of us, is that he actually believes his lies.
The new “DOGE saved so much money that we’re sending every American a check” just dropped.
November 9, 2025 at 2:35 PM
In 2016, republicans, led by McConnell, blocked the confirmation of Merrick Garland and then vowed they'd continue to block it if Hillary Clinton was elected, for the entire 4 years.

This is what's at play now with the shutdown to keep the Epstein files hidden.
