Yes Joyce Kilmer is nice, also some groves in GSMNP were very impressive before the hemlocks died. But so few if any of the most productive, big tree stands in the East were ever documented -- we don't have a historic baseline of what many species can do if left to grow.

I bet trees like this were common before they were all cut, just shows you what the species is capable of (as is case w/many others).

C doesn't make any sense -- if we're all doomed, then why take action to protect ourselves? A better option would be that we're going to experience some degree of breakdown, but steps can still be taken to mitigate. This is the option that best aligns with available data and understanding.
