Plenty of brents calling this morning, at least a dozen spoonies, redshank and curlew very vocal. Big flocks of tits, goldcrest and chaffinch. Siskin and redwing overhead. Busy autumnal morning! 🍂🕸 #WildBrownsea @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

After decades of decline, Little Tern has enjoyed a strong 2025 breeding season at colonies across England, offering hope for the species' recovery:
Encouraging 2025 breeding results for England's Little Terns
Little Tern has shown encouraging signs of recovery in 2025, with record numbers fledging at key English colonies. Conservation work by the RSPB and partners, including habitat restoration, predator control and community engagement, has helped boost breeding success. Despite ongoing threats, these results offer renewed hope for one of the UK's rarest and most threatened seabirds.
