@wildlifewend.bsky.social
Wife to the love of my life, mother to Mike and Dave, grandmother of 2. Mad about anything wild. "Woke" and proud of it.
I'm a sucker for a fairground organ, as @34020seaton.bsky.social will confirm. If you ever go to Utrecht, visit the Mechanical Music Museum. ❤️

My new phone takes amazing photos. Look close up.

This is far too easy for you, @wildtara.bsky.social , but can you find what I believe is a white-legged damselfly?

@stevenwright58.bsky.social @wildtara.bsky.social I've just worked out how to send videos. I was using the wrong icon. 🙄😂

I'm definitely far from an expert, but this is a picture of a field cuckoo bee from my bee book.

@bsbibotany.bsky.social I forgot #wildflowerhour last night! Here are my belated #urban plants - ivy leaved toadflax, smooth hawksbeard, ragwort and creeping thistle, outside Keighley station.

@bsbibotany.bsky.social #wildflowerhour Ragged robin in my garden pond for #pinkfamily. Then possibly ground elder on a roadside in Hatfield #wildflowerID please.

@bsbibotany.bsky.social #wildflowerhour The first moschatel I've seen since @larkinlichen.bsky.social showed me them some years ago. Such perfect little plants.

A visit to the beautiful Hampton Wood and Meadow with @34020seaton.bsky.social . Flowers to die for, and the birdsong was deafening - 2 cuckoos, Cetti's and sedge warblers to name a few.

@katebradbury.bsky.social As you have lots of ideas for your wildlife garden, can you give me an idea what I can do with this old strawberry planter? I'm sure the wildlife can benefit somehow.... Thanks, Kate.

Charles Dickens 1841, introduction to Barnaby Ridge. So depressing that human nature never changes.
April 15, 2025 at 8:24 AM
@bsbibotany.bsky.social #wildflowerhour A lot of marsh marigold by the mere in Abbey Fields in Kenilworth, and the snake's head fritillaries are in bloom as well.
April 6, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Can anyone help with this bee-fly, please? I've had a few in my garden over the last day or two, but I've never seen such dark ones before.
April 5, 2025 at 3:34 PM
@bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social The cherry plum is now in full bloom. A single celandine for #YellowFlowers and sweet violet.

Today's @theguardian.com - truly terrifying. Dictators are surely the only ones who have huge statues erected? And the whole thing is just wicked.
February 27, 2025 at 5:02 PM
@bsbibotany.bsky.social #wildflowerhour A single blossom of cherry plum. Spring is on its way - the birds were singing, and I even heard a woodpecker drumming.

Prior to this trip with @34020seaton.bsky.social I'd always thought of it as a place that the Eurostar stops. It's a bit more than that....
February 7, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Just back from a break in beautiful Lille with @34020seaton.bsky.social we had a great time, and the journey on Eurostar was, as ever, awesome.

@btobirds.bsky.social Can you help with this feather, please? It's about 1½ in long, and was found in woodland in N. Wales. Breast feather of a buzzard, maybe?
January 18, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Bother. Didn't realise that tree was blurred - have a couple more.
