This is not a loon. It's an African penguin 🐧

African penguins make a loud braying call that sounds a lot like a donkey (which earned them the nickname “jackass penguin”).

This Penguin Awareness Day we’re celebrating one of the most at-risk penguin species in the world.

"There's a window of time to effect change," Dr. Jane said.

This year, let's act in honour of Dr. Jane.

Let's come together for our one and only home. And let's make sure that – day in and day out – we're making an impact that benefits animals, people, and the environment.

Spotted in ancient forests of China. 💚

This wild giant panda was observed by rangers from 50 metres away. They managed to get some fantastic footage showing pandas’ tree climbing behaviour!

I am equally mad

1 million are dead to covid
42 million were just starved
24 million on ACA get cost increases
47 murdered under a false flags in the gulf

These illegalities allowed, because bootlickers making 6 figures lost their spines for gold and pedophilia.

All they do is fuck us over & hide

Now more than ever, we think the world could use some inspiration from Dr. Jane.

She often spoke about the power of young people – and she considered the creation of Roots & Shoots to be one of her greatest accomplishments.

Urban trees can lower temps by up to 12°C, but it’s not just about quantity. Species, layout and local climate all play a role in how effective they are. Strategic planting leads to cooler streets, cleaner air and healthier communities, especially in neighborhoods vulnerable to rising temperatures.
Trees are natural ACs for cities, if you plant the right ones
Urban trees are on the rise but researchers are only starting to uncover the best way to cool cities with them

A new report we released with partners shows how legal loopholes in EU law enable a flourishing trade in illegally-sourced wildlife.

At the #IUCNCongress, starting this week, we are supporting Motion 108, to address the global pet trade.

🌿 Spend time in nature to honour Dr. Jane's deep love for the natural world. Walk among the trees, watch for birds, and enjoy the fresh air.

🤝 Start a small project – awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and nature clean-ups are all great ideas.

🐾 Black-tailed prairie dogs once filled the hills of Saskatchewan with their sharp yips. Now they survive on just 2% of their former global range.

Grassland species in 🍁 have ⬇️ 62% since 1970. When prairie dogs disappear, so do the homes & food they provide for owls, foxes & more. #WorldAnimalDay

It's beautiful to know that she could pass on in peace with confidence about the legacy she left for us to carry on🐆🌿🩵
This past April, Dr. Jane spoke with Jann Arden about her "next great adventure."

"When you die, there's either nothing or there's something. And I happen to believe there's something," Dr. Jane said.

"And I can't think of anything more exciting than discovering what that something is."
