Yes, very similar here. Rural Oregon.

I’m sorry! I didn’t have a cost share, I got a grant that was funded with IRA that funding a new highly efficient irrigation system on our farm. Those funds were put to good use, its so frustrating

The left needs comprehensive farm policy. It’s infuriating as a progressive, rural farmer. Trump is f*** farmers over but he also lied and some fell for it. He spoke to them (all BS) but we didn’t. Dems need a counter that address’s rural/ag needs. Instead, we seed anything ag related to the right…

This is such a short sided, frankly dumb response. Trump wants corporatization of farms. That is BAD for all. Instead, we should be taking the opportunity to build sustainable farming policy from the left and bring farmers into the fold. I’m a small scale farmer, voted for Harris. Saw this coming.

Nooooo, oh this makes me sad. When I worked in the warehouses down the street I ate a whole lot of lunches here :(

That water would never make it to where he thinks it did. He wasted 5 billion gallons of water, I hope those irrigation districts and water right holders sue the shit out of him.
February 3, 2025 at 7:26 PM
As a farmer this is sick a big deal, I hope they sue. Those water rights are well established law…
February 3, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Ya and those unions should be working with an independent broker that’s local to them and can advocate for them. Not an agent that’s captured to a specific company.
February 2, 2025 at 3:15 PM
This is why Dems need to be talking about regenerative agriculture and ways to build sustainable local food systems. It’s like they just agree that anything agriculture related is in the Republicans court and we shouldn’t be playing the game at all. That’s total BS.

Absolutely reckless behavior by someone who clearly doesn’t understand water management and water law.
February 1, 2025 at 2:52 PM
As a farmer, this is real scary. We already expected decreased water flows due to mild winter. When irrigation season comes and farmers don’t have enough water to get crops to market and no harvest crews, prices are going to skyrocket. Import won’t be cheaper either with tariffs 😬

Ughhh! I was just starting to move my stuff over there :(

Just want to note- just because they are keeping their DEI initiatives doesn’t make them good guys. My mom has worked for Kroger for 25 years and that company is absolutely horrible to their employees now that the stores aren’t owned by Fred Meyer. She’s so close to retirement she won’t leave.

Meanwhile, on the high desert of Oregon where we do always get snow in the winter, we had one day of snow and that’s it 😳 scary stuff

I have two young children and I’ve come to the realization that being in the streets (at this specific moment) isn’t my role in the resistance. But I’m voting with my dollar, 25 days into a no-buy year and growing food for my community and teaching others how too.
