We maintain a Facebook page titled "Wild Fire Reports" here:
https://www.facebook.com/WildFireReports Typically, we only cover Arizona wild fires on the Facebook page. However, we will have wider coverage with this Blue Sky acct.

Interested in the #BryceFire? We have put up 18 posts (so far) about the Bryce Fire. It's quite likely there will be many more. Our main page is here:

Another indication #Arizona #wildfire season is about to heat up is April 10th arrival from Lake City, Florida, of VLAT DC-10 T914 "Chile Nacho" @ KIWA. Erickson MD-87 LAT T106 has been in AZ since 22MAR25. T106 flew a mission on #RedingtonFire 29MAR & has been pre-po'd @ KFHU since then.

For some folks, nothing looks better than an IMSR reporting ALL #wildfires in an area as 100% contained! Talk about Good News! Since the Nat'l PL level is One, the IMSR is now only being released every Friday. Personnel assigned in SACC are now only 216, ~90% less than the recent peak.

Looks like the Carolina #wildfires are going to get some heavy rain in the coming week. This is the 7-day QPF and you can learn more about it here:

#TableRockFire remains #1 priority. #BlackCoveFire & #DeepWoodsFire moved down while #BigRidgeFire is now #2 and #RattleSnakeBranch is #3. Half of Top 6 #wildfires 4cast 2B contained by weekend. All six said to be exhibiting "minimal" #wildfire behavior. Combined cost of 6 is approx $16.5-million.

Top 6 #wildfires looking good. That's what a little rain will do. 4 fires reduced personnel. Containment %-ages rose. "Minimal" fire behavior common to all of Top 6. Combined cost is nearing $14-million. All of Top 6 fires are forecast to be contained this month

In any given year we try to focus soely on #Arizona #wildfires. The 2025 #wildfire season in the Desert SW is just now beginning. Drought & dry fuels are certain to support a fierce, widespread fire season. Here's our report on The #BullFire with regard to NASA FIRMS data.

Top 6 #wildfires in Southern Area now have a combined cost of almost $11-million. All 6 are said 2B exhibiting "minimal" fire behavior. 5 fires expected to be contained B4 mid-April. ALl 6 showing decent containment %-ages. #BlackCoveFire is 93% contained. 1,329 personnel are assigned to the Top 6
April 1, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Note the 0%-ages in SW #NewMexico. That area includes the Gila National Forest--one of the most #wildfire prone sectors of the State. 3 of NM's Top 5 largest fires in history were in the Gila Nat'l Forest.
Last year's snow water equivalent (SWE) at this time versus today's. SWE is the amount of water in the snowpack if the snow melted completely. Big difference from a year ago. This is why there is so much concern about fire season. April & May are the windiest months in NM.

"Minimal" is a word you really want to see in the IMSR. Four of the Top 6 #wildfires are exhibiting Minimal fire behavior. The other 2 #wildfire are "Moderate". This is Very Good News. Today's additional precip will help keep fires in check. SACC personnel assigned reduced by about 10% Sunday.

“We don't see significant condition changes that will decrease the wildfire threat during the month of April or potentially into May,” #SouthCarolina State Forester Scott Phillips said. “So, this is going to be a long season for us.”
