I’m from the Lehigh Valley but we’ve got plenty of Amish around. One of my good friends lives in Lancaster and also loves it! Has she discovered the joy of shoofly pie??

Pork and sauerkraut on New Year’s Day. Pennsylvania Dutch tradition for good luck. I still make it every year and I even give my cat a tiny bit so she gets the good luck too.
