This has become all too true in the last two weeks, in both good and disappointing ways.
You know, this is still super shitty and I'm mad about it. But since he hasn't been able to find another job, Dad was able to throw 2 suitcases together and fly halfway across the country so he can be my chauffeur and caregiver for 6-8 weeks of chemo and radiation 🥹
Man, these tariffs are great. Dad just got laid off due to them but I'm sure they'll benefit working class folks like us. Right? Right???

So the hospital wants to use my rare cancer diagnosis and treatment plan as a case study for future medical students. Does this count as a birthday present?

Made my nurse cry this morning 😬 She asked to confirm my birthday (next Friday) and I joked that I got cancer as my birthday present. She did not find that as funny as I did 😅

There's a lot of shitty things about chronic illnesses in the American healthcare system, but I appreciate that I've built a team of doctors who I can call at 4:30 and be like, help I'm in excruciating pain and have a prescription called in before they close.
