So if negative mood follows this pattern: negative thoughts arise → they disrupt your normal state of mind → they wear you down → you’re overwhelmed by negativity. It’s unavoidable that we encounter hard things in life, but we can build mental resilience so that at least we won’t be worn down so easily. Right? I think mental strength is a bit like working out at the gym—you can train your mindset just like you train your muscles. First, set a schedule. You need to figure out your priorities and focus more time on the most important things first. Second, let fun activities take your mind off things—like browsing Zhihu, listening to podcasts, or simply taking a walk outside. Negative thoughts tend to grow when you’re alone and bored.
