I have nothing but respect for Pete, but I disagree with his statement that egg prices are "a real issue" for "most Americans." It's a distracting shiny object.

Who are those people? Everyone I know who talks about egg prices only does so as a way of pointing out that the orange thug hasn't brought them down. It's not a big worry for anyone I know. The future of our society is.

Eggs are $8 to $12 a dozen here in Southern California. (California law allows only eggs from cage-free hens). Gasoline is $4.65 at most stations around here but $4.07 if you know where to look. (The same or a bit lower than last year, and 60 cents of that is the state tax).
