Heading home from Davis after a birthday visit to my daughter. Almond trees are in bloom all along California's Central Valley. Beekeepers are struggling to meet demand for pollination as hives across the U.S. collapse, with population losses of 50 percent or worse. The cause this time isn't clear.

Really glad to get this rain, the first really good soaking in many months. Not so great for the burn areas, but not a disaster either. Hope that holds true.

This puzzle is a Sunday ritual for me, and frankly the best thing my local paper publishes these days. The three panels all share one 3x3 box.

Yosemite Falls, upper and lower. Was lucky to get snow (thundersnow, even) on this visit in late March of 2016.

Shot this about 20 years ago on a Nikon film camera at Ka Lae, aka South Point, on the Big Island of Hawaii. The color just blew me away, and I was so glad to see that the processing place I used was able to get it right.
