My ranking of every Ninth Doctor story (so basically a Series One tier list). Left = the strongest of that tier. Right = the weakest of that tier. Down in the dregs of F tier we have The Idiot's Lantern, New Earth, Fear Her and Planet of the Dead. In D tier, we have The Unicorn and the Wasp, The Doctor's Daughter, Love & Monsters, The Shakespeare Cod and The Lazarus Experiment. In C tier we have The Next Doctor, 42, Born Again and The Christmas Invasion. In B tier we have Army of Ghosts, The Sontaran Stratagem, The Poison Sky, Daleks in Manhattan, Evolution of the Daleks, School Reunion, Smith and Jones, Partners in Crime, Time Crash, Rise of the Cybermen, Tooth and Claw and The Runaway Bride. My ranking of every Ninth Doctor story (so basically a Series One tier list). Left = the strongest of that tier. Right = the weakest of that tier. Down in C tier we have Boom Town and The Long Game. Boom Town definitely being the stronger of the two. In B tier we have The End of the World, Aliens of London, World War Three and The Unquiet Dead. In A tier we have Rose, Bad Wolf and Father's Day. And standing on high in S tier we have The Parting of the Ways, The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances and Dalek.

But I've had a sudden urge to rewatch #DoctorWho Season 12.

And this is the moment everything changed...
The year is 2010. The very beginning in fact. A young boy is channel surfing on New Year's Day. Whereupon he finds Doctor Who. Now the boy knew of Doctor Who. How could he not? It was everywhere back in those days. He'd caught a few episodes here and there. Most of them traumatising him for several years. But he wouldn't call himself a fan. Not yet. Except this time is different. The boy watches as David Tennant erupts into flames as an orchestra swells. The TARDIS is engulfed in a blazing inferno. And from the fire, Matt Smith emerges. He yells "Geronimo" as his trusty TARDIS hurtles towards the Earth. That scene. That single scene is enough to start an almighty sequence of events. The boy's mission is clear. When this new era begins; he must watch it. The next three years of television will ensnare, dazzle, confuse and define that boy. And it never occurs to him that one day, he to will have to watch his Doctor regenerate. But not yet.

Lets👏 talk👏 about👏 the👏 "It's not fair" scene, cos I 👏 have stuff👏 to say 👏
A lot of people take grievance with the Doctor exploding at Wilf. Fair play, everyone's entitled to an opinion and whatnot. But I am not one of those people. I've seen the scene/speech likened to a Shakespearean monologue. Where a character just opens their heart and says how they feel. Couldn't agree more. I know the Doctor isn't gonna let Wilf die. You know the Doctor isn't gonna let Wilf die. Everyone and their grandmother knows the Doctor isn't gonna let Wilf die. The scene exists so the Doctor can rant at the universe itself, denying him the chance to live and be happy, but using Wilf as a vocal point for it. He can't fall in love with Rose, or Madame de Pompadour, or Joan Redfern or anyone. He fumbled so bad with Martha, her whole family got traumatised. Astrid, someone who willingly wanted to travel with him, died saving his life. Donna, someone he had zero ronantic interest in; was forced to forget him. Lady Christina, another person who willingly wanted to travel with him, was turned down. And why not? Everyone else previously listed has had their lives damaged by the Doctor. OK he says, I'll travel alone. Need I remind you how The Waters of Mars goes. Of course he doesn't want to die. Of course he's angry. Of course everything thrown his way gets ruined. But of course; he's still going to sacrifice himself to save Wilf. Because he's the Doctor.

Lets talk about the Master
The Master's botched resurrection is equally fascinating. Its so refreshing to see the Master inverted and reduced to this. He's fucking feral here. Turning the Master into the least Master-y thing is incredibly compelling. Before in S3, the Master's craziness was a mask to hide his damage. Here, the craziness is full-on but its not by choice. His mind is literally broken.

Lets talk about Ten
I know the Doctor’s speech on dying really isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I find it so fascinating. Yeah, in-universe the concept of regeneration is scary and like dying. Realistically, we all consider the different Doctors different people. Having an incarnation be genuinely scared and resistant to changing is a compelling inversion. This Doctor doesn't want to die in a blaze of glory. This Doctor doesn't want to sacrifice himself. One might almost say, this Doctor doesn't want to-

The top shelf, AKA; the random stuff and where the plushies go. No real theme here. Its kind of the graphic novel shelf, but also the "big book" and misc shelf too. A couple vintage books, zines and anthologies...idk. The second shelf, AKA the Manga and Novel shelf. Fairly self explanatory. We have the manga stacked on top of the novels. The novels ranging from penguin classics, banned books, anthologies, stand-alone books and naturally; the Five Nights at Freddy’s trilogy. The third shelf, AKA the Doccy Who shelf. Or at least, the big one. Target novels up top, along with the Virgin New Adventures. Then the BBC Eighth Doctor books, some PDAs, reprints and some special releases. This is the shelf thats always in flux. And finally the fourth and fifth shelf, AKA the TBD shelf and the Heavy book shelf. Its always important to have a gap on your bookshelf. That's how you know you can fill it with MORE books. A few New Series Adventures, some reference books, graphic novels, comic books, annuals, and naturally; the Animator's Survival Kit.

Ever since The Christmas Invasion/School Reunion (and especially The Runaway Bride), we've had the hints of the Tenth Doctor being one little push away from doing he shouldn't. And after every single bloody traumatic thing he's been through, some of it his fault, some of it out of his control; its all been leading to this. The literal worst situation to drop him into. No companion to hold him back. No chance for a "just save someone". The Tenth Doctor is often compared to the Fifth Doctor; a young energetic hero who wants so desperately to do good, but constantly opposed by cold cruelty of the universe. The main difference is that the Tenth Doctor has the defiance and fire to push back. And when you push against the universe, the universe pushes back.

My take on NiGHTS' Halloween design :) NiGHTS is flying amongst the clouds at night, complete with a full moon. In their Halloween getup, NiGHTS dons a white version of their iconic jester costume, with crimson red highlights. Their waistcoat is an elaborate bat shape, along with a cadmium green highlights and millstone collar. Their feet have cute little skull bells and two bat wings hover behind them. NiGHTS loves this time of year, because they get to be unabashedly spooky for a bit. Nightmaren is still a part of their DNA after all.

I have a nonbinary OC (they've been NB ever since I first designed them) but several years later...I kind of think they work better as a woman?

Is it like...against the rules to change the pronouns of my OCs? Will people get mad? Is it kind of shitty to do that to a NB OC?
