Hi! I'm Kheisa; I've been filling my brain with facts about Build-A-Bear Workshop since 2022 but always have room for more :) Feel free to @ me with any ID requests! 🧸

Buying me a coffee helps me afford to do more of this: ko-fi.com/wholecanesugar
I also still think Build-A-Bear should bring back the photo booths that apparently the first store had. Nostalgia bait me to microtransact for a shitty little strip of photos, come on! I'd bite!

Out of the wash and drying! No noticeable red bleed which I am SO pleased about!! The tag is a little worse for wear, which is to be expected - it will disintegrate over time with cuddles. The logo on the foot is also not doing super hot but I'll just acetone it off if it starts to bother me.

Bunny soup. Garlo actually just got chucked straight in the washer because he doesn't have any delicate parts to risk damaging, but I wanted to heat treat Hass to see if I could restore her fur a little more so she got the full handwash soup.

Pre soup for Garlo. You can't necessarily tell JUST from looking at him that he's been cuddled for a straight year, but his brand tag is starting to disintegrate and his hands are juuust noticeably a different colour from his protected arms, so it's worth a wash. Hoping his red fabric doesn't bleed.

My daily cuddle bear (my Demogorgon) and my nightly cuddle bear (my 2013 Pawlette) by sheer coincidence happen to share the same birthdate (November 6) so I'm going to give them both a nice spa day this weekend and get them restuffed at BAB 🐻

Cowshi's coming with me to get a piercing today :)

A new little guy!! I want to try and collect all these little mother's/father's day minis. I'm doing pretty well on the mother's day side, I think I mostly just need Curly Bear in terms of the really rare old ones!

Garlo is gar-bsmacked at the view from my parents' new house.

Omg I just the SWEETEST comment on Reddit about my work on the wiki, totally unsolicited, made my whole night and filled my shriveled sleepy heart to the brim 🥹

Questions I would ask Maxine Clark if I ever got to:
- What's the relationship between the early days bears and similar looking plush from other brands? e.g. Floppy Cow vs Zany Brainy Cow, Chubby Cubby vs Fancy Zoo potbelly bear, etc
- Why were the international WWFs produced by Anna Club Plush?

There's a little bit in Maxine Clark's book where she talks about how Walt Disney is her idol and one of the specific things she notes that she followed his example on is the preservation of company history for archival purposes, which made me foam at the mouth a little. Let me at it!! 👀

Man I gotta get more fun things to post about. Maybe I'll do some fun things with my bears this weekend :)

I'm not saying Build A Bear SHOULD restuff and stitch other-brand items but boy is it a bummer to see the company no longer do things Maxine Clark used to be so proud of.

Now I'm emailing Archive.org I guess. We'll see how this goes.

What I *THINK* is that Republic of Tea collaborated with BAB once in 1999 to produce the Teddy's Tea Set, once in 2002 (or maybe super-late 2001) to make Traveler Teddy, the be-hatted Curly Bear that came with a traveler's tin of Straw-Cherry Cha Cha tea, and once in 2003 to make Bamboo the Panda, -

I'm very pleased with how much being forced to take over emails for my job has boosted my confidence in email writing. I'll email anyone now, who cares.

Sent another email to a Build-A-Bear corporate collaborator from the early 2000s because the Wayback Machine has decided a page which was previously successfully archived is, uh, not now. Hopefully this one actually has some info for me! 🤞

We're no urban explorers but sometimes a sufficiently undercaretaken garden can give the same vibes. #chutneysdayout

Begging on my hands and knees for Build-A-Bear to stop doing drops of *counts* 12 bears at once. My poor brain turned to mush trying to archive all the Halloween bears (and Muffin from Bluey) that dropped today.

Day out with miss Max! She'll get her skateboard someday.

Recently I've been wondering about the possibility of starting a Patreon (or equivalent) for my bearchiving. I was thinking it would be a sort of nominal subscription fee, like $1/£1/mo, and I would spend the money earned from it on research items (bears, newsletters, etc).

I gotta come up with a new way to show the countries BAB is in on the wiki homepage because 30 is way too many for the format it's using now. Maybe just take it down to icons?
