I reminded him the trip is w/a group and I can't choose the dates. He's not budging on his decision. Little does he know, I've been ready to #retireearly for a couple years!

Get everything in writing!! & make sure to have #FUmoney saved for when you've had it.

My #badboss got back to me last night rejecting my vacation days!

I reminded him of our convo from the fall. First, he denied that we had the convo. Then he admitted to having the convo, but claimed I never told him how long I would be gone. He told me to choose alt dates for my trip.

His response- "Go on the trip & have fun!"

The tour just filled a couple weeks ago. So I put in for those days off through our "official" channel at work.

In the meantime, I booked flights, hotels, etc. I couldn't wait- everything was filling! Especially with the trip being only a few months away.

Yet one more reason to love Weird Al even more- vegan since the 90s?!?! I'm only on year 11.

Great blog post and recap! And I think your total $ spent was pretty modest considering how much you did & saw! I'm not even retired yet and already worry a bit about $. I think letting go of the worry will be the hardest for me!

I think it stems from being absolutely broke and only being able to eat ramen for 5-7 years! Been enjoying your videos, keep sharing the great content.

I never was into mileage but I do like my cash back credit card. My parents taught me to never use a credit card for something I can't pay for right now. You get to delay paying for it by a month and rack up some points in the process. Win-win if you always pay that balance off.

I love how everyone always says "do a mega backdoor Roth." But what's the actual % of people who are ABLE to do it? Certainly no one I know has that option.

Love those stats!

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way! They've been pushing it hard here and I'd love to be greener with my power but I don't feel it would be a good investment for my property right now. Trying to get into a community solar program instead.

Yes, very true. I feel that if I rented my housing costs would be double so I'm happy with where my numbers are at right now.

Without kids I hardly ever qualify for tax credits. And even with solar credits in my state it would take me 40+ years to break even with panels.
