Yeah even as someone who is optimistic that we could do degrowth in a way that would just kinda suck instead of being a nightmare it's not like I think it's an ideal option but I also don't see how letting a billion people be displaced doesn't at best also destroy the global economy anyway

Yeah, this is why, despite the very encouraging solar news coming out of China and elsewhere, it doesn't seem like there's a path to anything close to 1.5c that doesn't require degrowth of some variety.
