It’s wildly out of control in the U.S. as well, and I fear there is no hope. I’m not sure we haven’t passed the tipping point. If we haven’t, it’s damn close, and there doesn’t seem to be the collective will to turn it around.

Same. I’ve done it a little, but not too much. I don’t want to be obnoxious about it, but it would be so much easier to juggle so many platforms if it just became an accepted practice to cross-post content, adapted as appropriate for each.

Threads feels good. Very positive space. Like here. With slightly (though not grossly) higher character count than the bad place. I like it here, but it’s still so slow I don’t come on much. You won’t hate it when you get there.

What have you loved lately?

You’ve prob already read it, but I just reread The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and I adore it. Partly contemporary, partly historical, but in a very interwoven, modern story. It’s delicious! Also Yellowface (amazing!!!) and Such a Fun Age come to mind. All 3 are fantastic in diff ways.

Same. And I barely have an audience there, but it’s bigger than anywhere else. (Though they’ve literally stopped showing my posts to anyone, so there’s that for the “what’s the point?” file.)

I think I just read the thing you’re talking about & I feel mixed on it. Obviously querying writers want agents & every rejection hurts, so like if you know it will sell, why not take it on? But also, I get that they have to invest months in it with no guarantees & passion keeps them committed.
