The campaign takes place about ten years after the third season of Picard. The ship, comm badge, and uniform redesigns took cues from Vulcan and some TOS aesthetics.

The refit of USS Pathfinder incorporated Vulcan tech and was heavily inspired by the USS Arges fan design by japetus.
