I've cried a fair bit over the years while playing video games, but I'm not sure any game ever messed me up (complimentary) quite like Lost Odyssey. I wish more people had a chance to play it.

I've cried a fair bit over the years while playing video games, but I'm not sure any game ever messed me up (complimentary) quite like Lost Odyssey. I wish more people had a chance to play it.

So much evil has been done this year that sometimes it's easy for me to become a bit numb to the headlines, but yeesh.
A reminder for those in a position to help that it's generally not difficult to find local groups who can make sure donated funds and food get where they need to go.

I was already studying Japanese before this came out - Samurai Warriors the game is what got me into Japanese culture - but Ken Watanabe and Hiroyuki Sanada's performances in Last Samurai moved me firmly into the 'must learn Japanese' camp, for sure.

I ended up seeing the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie twice this week, and days later, still in awe of how incredible it was. It feels like it's been such a grim year for art with generative AI becoming increasingly normalized. It did my heart good to see something so unabashedly and passionately human.
