By that logic, why was Vlad Guerrerro Sr. on the 68-94 Expos 11th in MVP voting that same year? Worse in every rate stat except slug. They play the same position and were in the same division, yet Vlad was higher in the votes.

Also, Sean Casey and Barry Larkin on the 1999 Reds recieved MVP votes.

Here's why I find that to be a silly reason to leave anyone off.

Below is a comparison of Bobby Abreu and Greg Vaughn's 1999 season. Look at these two seasons and tell me which one finished 4th in the NL, and which one finished in 23rd?

MVP voting is highly flawed.

What's the rationale for voting for Jimmy Rollins, and NOT for Bobby Abreu? Sure Rollins was better defensively, but not to the extent it pushes him to having a better resume than Abreu.

Why not? The list of players who have gotten on base more times than him to not be in the hall is 8 players long, and 7 of them are either scandalized, or haven't become eligible yet. Only other guy on here has 1200 more PAs. He's also ahead of some inner circle guys. What's keeping him out for you?

I'm in agreement though that Whitaker belongs in the hall. But comparing his numbers to Rollins, it's clear Lou was a better player, at least offensively.
