dont forget to insert the lycan instance url in the settings page, and to index your account (theres a one click button in the search page). after that the "Import..." box should turn into the "Search..." box and you can now search from your previously interacted posts

not sure why but i cant log into tangled using any accounts hosted on my pds. i tried using a bsky.social acc and it worked just fine

the new post composer that finally allows for replies and quotes and facets does help, but it still doesnt support media embeds so youll be stick with text-only posting for a while

i dont actually know of any alternative cdn instances, but the option is now available if you need it

just made the headers change colors when scrolled but idk it kinda looks bad on desktop and on mobile it still looks bad because the system bar doesnt change with the header

i really like twitter's post thread sidebar for the desktop web image viewer and so added it to red dwarf
(its not actually hooked up to any routes yet, its just a modal)

hmm the upcoming bsky update (main.bsky.dev) undid my patch and text color on dark theme is now pure white again

hmm to be honest im not sure, just made a new test acc "testuser" and i was able to log into mastopod. it does take a while to load, does the browser console/network tab report anything strange?

it does work, its just that its not implemented in the ui. i made a userscript that patches mastopod and i can login just fine
this makes it seem like the project very under resourced, and not a technical limitation

got a public url for red dwarf social app red-dwarf-social-app.whey.party
so far i only got feeds and post thread to use the red dwarf direct pds + microcosm queries, and everything else is still standard unchanged social-app. i havent touched profile pages yet

tried porting the new react query based red dwarf fetching logic into social-app. its really slow and if i dont wait for the profile data itll crash from Maximum update depth exceeded

okay so im trying something, so this is a custom feed that hydrates its own content, without relying on any appview to display it. for every new post that appears in the feed, it tracks its interactions to provide an independent and (best effort) hydrated getFeed and getPostThread apis

Oh also im not self hosting constellation but i implemented the constellation api routes in the index server because it was easy enough to just query from the stored backlinks i got from spacedust (which i do self host)

skylite View server now can show notifs (though slightly wrong and not timestamped) which is powered by spacedust

gave Bounce a try on a fresh test acc @testhello.whey.party and i ran into some issues. bridging from fedi to bsky didnt seem to work. its still beta though, so im not too worried, itll probably smooth out over time

like what about this, this is for the Index server responses so they can send out partially hydrated views for threads. so like if the index server also hosts a few of the users hydrated content they can just inline it and avoid repeat fetches but leave the remote posts as refs? i dont really know..
