Who is homeless?

Kids

Single parents

Entire families - many working too

Vets

Those with mental issues we do not help treat

Those with addictions we don't help treat

Some who choose to opt out of this shit race (and good for them)

All people who deserve help, not state sponsored murder.
Brian Kilmeade endorses euthanizing homeless people: "Involuntary lethal injection, or something. Just kill them."

Would anyone be able to ID the smaller insect that seems to be attacking the lightning bug? This little one landed on my arm (so I could help it?)

I removed the smaller insect and the firefly stretched(?) and rested on my watch.

Buried in the Republicans’ “Big, Beautiful Bill” is a provision that shields Trump and his Admin from being held in contempt of court.

So it doesn’t just cut taxes for billionaires — it also undermines the courts and emboldens an already lawless presidency. We must stop it.
Opinion | The GOP’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ has an ugly way of protecting Trump
A short provision would further insulate the president from judicial accountability.

I don’t remember planting this in my pollinator garden; I must have. But this is just a gorgeous plant.

I'm not a lawyer, and I know there's a way courts work, but it's just so grim to me that the Supreme Court can say, "Sorry you were kidnapped and disappeared to a torture jail, but you didn't do the lawsuit exactly right, so you're out of luck. Try again."

I agree 100%! Playing, imagination, love of learning, that will take kids further than if they know what buttons to press on an app but lack those things.
Some of the most important skills for the future are the non-technical skills. Reading, critical thinking, curiosity, play, imagination, teamwork.

We must prepare kids to adapt and think critically (and imaginatively) about the world around them. Regardless of the directions technology takes.

What's it gonna take for everyone to realize the occupant of the white house is fundamentally anti-American?
Trump thinks anyone protesting must be from another country when the right and will to protest our own government is a foundational American value.

When I was searching for something better (for my students) in education, I found Monte’s posts, his blog, and daily reminders of how critical connection, community, understanding, and a sense of perspective are. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It’s clever and a great read!

“Proficient”

I imagine that means as little to kids as it does to teachers.

“I am proficient.”

Translated.

“I jumped through hoops.”

Of course, there’s always “distinguished” for teachers or “exceeded” for kids.

[a higher hoop tolerance]

“Growing”

That’s the label.

Tired of transaction?

Initiate interaction.

Make your work with kids about interacting within the feedback-response process.

Learning and teaching should be an interaction, not a transaction.

We can do better.

💯
Why do you come to school?

“My friends.”

Pause (adults).

Check your gut.

How much value do you find in this response?

Now, translated.

“Human connection.”

Check your gut again.

Are we listening?

We can do better.
