Caring for Others = Caring for Self
Usually, the demands on family caregivers' time leave them no time for self-care. On this last day of Natl Family Caregivers Month, here are resources for caregivers from caregivers. www.caregiver.org/caregiver-resources/

"Gratitude has...power to energize,” he writes.“In the face of brokenness, gratitude has the power to heal. In the face of despair, gratitude has the power to bring hope.” #MultipleSclerosis

Yesterday I choked on a piece of water!
I was never in any danger, but couldn't clear my throat for 45 min. Afterward, I was zonked!
Eating & swallowing difficulties, called dysphagia, are common in those w #MultipleSclerosis. Therapy & mindfulness helped me.
Hydrate safely, my friends. #disability

The only issue...unanimously supported when I’m knocking on doors is that our healthcare system is broken. Yet there is a complete disconnect w individuals not realizing how going to the ballotbox & voting is directly related to their healthcare options. - IA Rep. Josh Turek, running for U.S. Senate

Rant: I just browsed an article about a so-called four stages of MS.
I hate articles like this because they reduce complicated conditions and situations into Lego blocks. Someone newly diagnosed could read this article and think, 'What's the point in trying?' #MultipleSclerosis #disability

We're turning the tide vs. #MultipleSclerosis.
-- Far fewer people w MS become progressive. It used to be half of cases did w/in 10-20 years. Now about 10% do.
-- If you were dxed in 1990, there were ZERO treatments. Now there are more than 20, w many more on the way — plus a vaccine is in testing.

What is clonus? And do you get it too?
Out of the blue, my heel & knee start bucking rapidly up & down like Morse code: tap-tap-tap X 100.
This is clonus, a rhythmic muscle spasm brought on by out-of-place signals coming from my brain/CNS. Clonus is brought to you by our sponsor, #MultipleSclerosis.
