This is probably the best response they have, and it still only really equates to “false rape accusations are a suboptimal strategy in strongly leftist circles”, and most people are not strong leftists who expertly optimize their decision-making.

As someone who read the article linked earlier in the OG thread, even if the author is describing their own circles accurately, they provide a poor answer to the question of “How do we ensure the ‘median voter’ types actually believes the smart anarchists rather than Mrs. ‘Haitians ate my cat’?”

To be fair, he actually agrees with you on this one; he just thinks Chinese is *worse* in this regard, and as a native Chinese speaker, I can’t say I wholly disagree.

On that “weirdo” part, I can’t really think of anyone else who’d willingly speak at a Holocaust denial event and then write a letter to the organizers’ journal saying “I’m pretty sure the Holocaust happened and you guys should be focusing entirely on the Israel lobby anyways.”
