I pretend to be all about books but end up posting lots of dog pics and using this as a coping mechanism for life’s stupid shit. This is what happens when you have adult kids. Gen X. Taurus.
Since the election, I have found it difficult to spend time on social media. I've tried to cull my feeds to ease the political bombardment, which has helped, but it still is a struggle. Who cares about books or hobbies when so much across the globe is wrong?

I read several articles with opposing viewpoints regarding Dems supporting McCarthy vs voting against him. I hate that they aligned with Gaetz but am conflicted about the long-term ramifications of their actions.

The most appropriate image of American politics was an elderly senator four years from death telling a bunch of kids she’s not going to vote for measures to lessen climate change because it doesn’t make fiscal sense

I made it the entire month of September without one pumpkin spice latte. What is wrong with me?

Well, the Dems wanted to replace Feinstein because she was too ill to attend sessions and vote. I don’t think they imagined this was how they would be able to do so.

I just heard a coworker literally spell the word “hell” instead of saying it.

And my opinion of this woman just went down to negative.

Today’s dilemma:

Details - outing with husband & occasional friends, 4 hours one way, free concert, bands you have no desire to see.

Do you send your hubs on his way because you have no FOMO and have never gone to concerts for bands you don’t like?

Spend the day with hubs & occasional friends?

That was, by far, the best race of the season. My heart goes out to George Russell though. #f1 #singaporegrandprix #lewishamilton #georgerussell #anyonebutverstappen

Watching NCAA football is a lot more painful this year with these damn GOP presidential candidate ads that are so full of bullshit and vitriol that they are sickening. #makeitstop #nogoppresident #nopresidentialadcampaigns

Waking up the the news that neither Red Bull driver made it to Q3 is probably some of the best news I’ve gotten in a while. #F1 -a#singaporegrandprix

These last two weeks have been so bad that I am surprised I am out of bed. To make matters worse, I am premenstrual, so I want to strangle my husband for his breathing. It's a fun night in the Shannon household.

Said good-bye to my grandmother today. It was a lot more difficult than I expected.

I know I’m still new but this place is so quiet. It makes the unhinged posting over on Threads seem a lot more fun.

I’m here. Still looking for the best birdie app replacement. What’s up, Bluesky?
