My original idea for that character was pretty one dimensional. But I got thinking about who I wanted to play the part and how brilliant they would be. And they’re NB.

And that got me to rework things, which gave the character far more substance.

(And yes, this is part 3 of a two part reply. 😐 )

I’m 3 years into my first creative project and I’ve learned so much. Best feeling of my life was when I realised I don’t suck at this anymore.

In return for missing out on that, AI offers me the prospect of instantly producing something truly awful to put my name on.

Apparently this is tempting.

Never. Just… never. It’s monstrously unethical, it’d make my work artistically worthless, and I wouldn’t be learning or developing my skills anymore.

My skills have improved in every single way since I started this project and I’m not giving that experience up for a shortcut to mediocrity. 2/2

It’s taken literal years to write and record a fiction podcast that I’ve not released a single episode of yet because writing is hard and life is busy. It’s taking me ages.

I’ve had several well-meaning friends ask me why I don’t use AI to “speed up the workflow.” 1/2

If you’d like to support me and the game, I have a thread of the 15+ reviews (!) that praise the voice acting in the game, especially mine!
They all have less likes than this post, so I’d love to get the positive ones out there instead!

...Rather than devolving into melodrama, Sally Beaumont's understated performance is uncomfortably real—you can feel Fia's composure and experience as she tries to move on, but also her weariness, and the cracks snaking across the surface of the walls she's been maintaining for all these years.”
Old Skies has reinvigorated my love of time travel stories, and it's a stellar point and click to boot

Good question. My answer is this:

The case hasn’t been thrown out. She’s still facing charges.

I’d also say that “With the exception of the deportations” is one hell of an exception to the rule of law, esp. when “looking Mexican” can get you a one way ticket to El Salvador. 1/2

However horrifying the impact of smartphones, however evil the Tates of this world are, what shocked me most was how every single person was not in control. How every single person, even Erin Doherty's brilliantly played psychologist, seemed ready to scream at the futility, their lack of agency.
