I'm liberal, egalitarian, and I think it's good to talk. If we had bacon, we could have bacon and eggs, if we had eggs.
That could have been a two. But I picked wrong...

#BBBCNews has just trailed discussing the Trump nonsense with "our guest, who is a #GBNews presenter."

WTF - to be clear, why the actual fuck - is the BBC continuing to platform presenters from a rival station?
November 15, 2025 at 9:08 AM
#Trump Is it possible that someone is going to step up and say that in the light of what we already knew, the Edit Heard Around The World wasn't actually that terrible? It's not as if his followers didn't try to derail the democratic will of the people, and trash the Capitol in the progress.#BBC

Can I hire #KarolineLeavitt to talk to my bank manager? If she can make half of America to believe some of the absolute space cadet twaddle she gives out, persuading the chap in my local branch that I'm a good bet for a generous bank error in my favour shouldn't be a problem...

#politicslive Yet ANOTHER #ReformUK panellist on this show today. This isn't impartiality.

Money. And I can remember a time when it was considered clever to type emails in lowercase to convey a sense of contempt for the medium.

#BCNews should refer to Farage as 'GBNews shareholder, Nigel Farage' ever time they report on him commenting on the BBC. Any other #ReformUK member commenting should be referred to as XX, from Reform UL, who are led by GBNews shareholder...'etc.

Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Would someone like to explain to me why a #ReformUK figure - not even an elected one - is yet again on #politicslive, and not a Lib Dem, Green or SNP MP? Or even a NI MP? I'd like the people out to decide the future of the BBC to at least watch the thing.
November 11, 2025 at 12:45 PM
Yet another #ReformUK voice on #politicslive. This time it's Ann Widdicombe, who like a depressing number of politicians - as if she thinks the only valuable thing the BBC does is put the news on. And that because it gives her an excuse to complain about it.

If the #BBC caves to Trump and pays him ANY money whatsoever, then every journalist in the corporation should walk. Because there will no longer be any credible journalism. This is a grift. Apologies for the edit, by all means, but this is a sleazy grift.

One thing that is clear from the contributions of politicians about DGgate is that MPs seem to have no contact with the BBC as consumers outside the news, Panorama and - for the adventurous - the World Service. Social media carries a similar misleading impression.
November 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM
And so as the BBC crumples under allegations that it has a left bias/anti-Israel/antiTrump/woke agenda, #BBCNews cuts to more live coverage of an inconsequential #Farage #ReformUK speech and press conference.
November 10, 2025 at 11:55 AM
#RogerBolton's analysis of DG-gate is the first person I've heard standing up and questioning the relationship between some of the BBC Board and the right wing media. They could do with someone of his authority and forthrightness at the top. And who was prepared to defend the BBC, but give in.
November 10, 2025 at 9:20 AM
I don't think the majority of BBC viewers have any substantial issues of "trust in the BBC". And if they do, just as many have a worry about the prominence given to #ReformUK.
November 10, 2025 at 8:48 AM
It is horrifying to see the glee with which the right are greeting this, when the most striking example of bias at the BBC is the disproportionate attention and coverage given to #ReformUK

The BBC is facing a coordinated, politically motivated attack. With these resignations, it has given in | Jane Martinson
The corporation should have stood up to the Telegraph, Trump and the Tories. Now, its enemies know how little it takes for it to fold, says Jane Martinson, professor of financial journalism
