Explaining forest fires to my son, we talk a lot about made-in-Canada water bombers.

These planes are so cool- I’m surprised De Havilland isn’t aggressively licensing toys or clothing like John Deere. Colourful non-military planes that help people. Kids love fire trucks, why not super scoopers?

Just a little shop for the day. The collapsible grocery crate sized to the milk crate is a beautiful setup.

I’ve now learned I have a baguette holder for the future.

I thought Lethbridge had more blue skies than Calgary, but it looks like even Medicine Hat can out-blue sky Calgary depending on the year.

It’s not quite the same blue, but I was wondering if they pulled the shade from here.

I love the VW trucks- I only recently learned that this was a North American marker Chevy truck. Apparently it was their big plan to kill VW- might be due for a reboot instead of the silly minivan trucks.

I guess it’s not all that tall, but I never realized there was a hate for tall buildings on campuses since this was my first campus exposure. The rest of the campus, not pictured, traditional university buildings and lawns. The tower doesn’t ruin it.

A friend organized a spring bike maintenance day. No bike repair skills were present, and Strider bikes don’t even have inflatable tires to pump up, but it made bikes more visible in our car-centric neighbourhood for a day. It got little kids really stoked for riding bikes.

This was my thought too- the numbered treaties are much more clear cut than when treaty issues were discussed around Quebec secession.

I had to google what Moe’s done or said to spur on this whole thought process and Google suggestions gave me these other suggestions which gave me a sad chuckle-

Pierre Poilievre’s afraid of journalists and he’s never even once been interview by Sudbury Kids reporter Jory Jordan, who would definitely make him cry. How dumb.

I’m waiting for the point in Canadian nationalism where we all start exclusively wearing flannel shirts, blue jeans, and denim jackets as a statement of pro-Canada political support.

I have to admit I know nothing about the availability of Canadian made or designed denim. 🇨🇦 #canada #cdntux

You can have a free logo if you’re not fussy about the colour orange.

I just learned that there’s a thing called #TerrierTuesday to interfere with my regular posts and reposts.

Forgot her jacket after a haircut so she got to borrow mine when she got cold, I swear I’m not dressing my dog in human clothes for fun.

Sort of?

I’m excited for any sort of investment in Via Rail, don’t get me wrong.

Really enjoyed the book, just finished so finally checking to see what people have said about it. Had to wait for the holiday to find time to read it.

Posting for the great book cover in your photo though, it has so much going on in it- much better than the cover available here! Weirdly jealous.

This makes me feel validated for having to take a photo when I caught this about two months ago here. When I first grabbed the smaller jar on the shelf it just…. felt wrong.

It was the least sneaky shrinkflation, their jars were just too distinctive.

That’s not a Quebecois thing- French is the other official language of NATO, it’s commonly displayed as NATO - OTAN together.

This reminds me of when Ford made gas stations put silly stickers on all the gas pumps blaming the carbon tax for the price of gas, excerpt Toronto would actually be justified.

Love the heated language in city council. 10/10 would probably vote for this guy.

Not secured to the ground, but heavy racks. Ceiling overhead keeps snow and rain off your ride. I think the repair stand may have had a pump long ago.

At the University of Ottawa. Canadians are fickle winter cyclists, and it was wet and snowy this day. These are packed in nice weather.

This article needs five times the photos because I’m not going to watch a video to see what their cargo ship actually looks like.

Searching for the photo I also learned the company is expanding, having ordered six more ships, and you can hitch a ride as a passenger.

Prairie Edge by Conor Kerr.

I’ve been meaning to share this book for a while, it seems like a good day to do it. This book is great, it’s set in present day Edmonton, and it should probably have more readers. The physical book itself is also really nice.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #546,750. I had no idea I was this early, when I saw numbers going up I estimated I would be around the 1.5 or 2 million mark.
