Really enjoyed reading Scarlet Morning by @gingerhaze.bsky.social ! Grateful to NYPL for having a copy available, really loved the unique layout choices throughout, not sure it would have hit the same on ebook. Excellent characters, compelling worldbuilding, great story! Go check it out 👍👍

Some really neat abilities for the characters, too, and I'll share a few of them below. Not sure where these characters would go next for progression, but I'm dang curious what some higher level feats / actions might look like!
Vigorous Swap � Frequency once per round; Effect Amir Interacts to stow a weapon he’s holding and then draws a different weapon. His next Strike with this newly drawn weapon deals an additional 3 damage. Polarize � (concentrate, force) Frequency once per round; Effect Aoi emits a pulse of energy that disrupts enemies while restoring allies. All enemies within 20 feet take 2d4 force damage (DC 19 basic Reflex save). Aoi and all allies within 20 feet rejuvenate their energy shields as if they began turn. Slash Dash � (move) Frequency once per round; Requirements Arthur is wielding his Protokol longsword; Effect Arthur dashes between nearby enemies and makes a Protokol longsword Strike, ending his movement adjacent to an enemy within 20 feet. Compare the attack roll result to the AC of up to three creatures within 20 feet. Roll damage only once and apply it to each creature hit. Slash Dash counts as three attacks toward Arthur’s multiple attack penalty. Energy Vampire � (concentrate) Lettie attempts to mark a creature within 30 feet to become a siphon for additional energy for herself or her allies. The target must attempt a DC 19 Fortitude save. On a failure, the target becomes marked. The first time each round that Lettie or one of her allies deals damage to the marked target with a Strike, Lettie or her ally becomes quickened until the end of their next turn but can use the extra action only to Stride or Strike. The mark lasts for 1 minute. Lettie can only have a single creature marked with Energy Vampire. If she marks a second creature, the original mark ends.

Each of the characters gets a rechargable energy shield, and I feel like (without having played it yet) it seems like a great way to do a really run-and-gun style Starfinder adventure without needing to pause for a lot of downtime.
AC 20; Fort +9, Ref +11, Will +5 HP 9 Energy Shield 24; Recharge 3 Energy Shield Amir has an invisible shield that protects him from incoming damage. The shield is similar to a secondary Hit Point value. Whenever Amir takes damage, he reduces his energy shield value first. Any remaining damage reduces his Hit Points as normal. At the end of Amir's turn, he regains an amount of energy shield listed on his recharge value, up to his listed energy shield value. The energy shield doesn’t recharge if Amir takes damage or while he is dying. AC 20; Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +11 HP 9 Energy Shield 24; Recharge 3 Energy Shield Aoi has an invisible shield that protects her from incoming damage. The shield is similar to a secondary Hit Point value. Whenever Aoi takes damage, she reduces her energy shield value first. Any remaining damage reduces her Hit Points as normal. At the end of Aoi's turn, she regains an amount of energy shield listed on her recharge value, up to her listed energy shield value. I had a great time listening in to the folks on the @warframe.com x @paizo.com / #Starfinder2e stream play the new adventure! The adventure has been a good read, but one of the things I'm most interested in testing out are the mechanics for energy shields that they used in the pregens.

I am having trouble wrapping my head around the idea of playing a deafblind vlaka. Has anyone else used this character option? How did you approach it? Would like to be respectful in my characterization if I decide on this route. #Starfinder2e
TRAITS HUMANOID VLAKA SENSORY DIVERSITY All vlakas have a keen sense of smell, gaining imprecise scent with a range of 60 feet. This means you can use your sense of smell to determine a creature's location. The GM might double the range if you're downwind from the creature or halve the range if you're upwind. In addition, each vlaka is born with one of the following sensory arrays: blind, deaf, deafblind, or hearing/sighted. Select one of these sensory arrays, and gain the associated senses or feats. Blind: You're blind. You gain hearing as a precise sense with a range of 90 feet. Deaf: You're deaf. You gain the Read Lips skill feat (even if you don't meet the feat's prerequisites). Deafblind: You're blind and deaf. Your scent becomes a precise sense with a range of 90 feet, rather than an imprecise sense with a range of 60 feet. Hearing/Sighted: You don't gain any additional senses.
