Not actually Riggs. Sorry. I'm not even really a possum, I'm such a fraud. She/her I guess but I'd prefer if you just envisage me as a vague non-corporeal form, or maybe a brain in a fancy jar. With arms for typing & drawing, I suppose.
Like I'm grateful that it pays the bills and lets me buy art supplies, and I'm actually pretty passionate about it and there are a lot of things I like about it - but it's pretty soul crushing even then. If I were any less interested in it, it would be hell. Art is more fulfilling, still.

As someone who went the opposite direction - you chose right. (I say, practicing medieval script rather than sleeping ahead of facing up to my corporate dev job tomorrow.)

The way things are talked and written about is so important. You don't need to call out other people's usage, but change your own, and define your terms and explain why you're using these specific ones when you're talking about it. We need to push back against the marketing.

Do you like world building, lore, and story? It has that. Do you like procedural generation & cave diving? You can do that and never even touch the story.

Please, I would just like to do a good job of building useful, sustainable, and maintainable things at a sane pace, in a way that doesn't cause psychic damage to anyone involved in building or using it.

What I also love is that if the time played is accurate, they spent quite a while committing self-harm via bushes without figuring this out.

Done! Getting money to small orgs and individuals who can be vouched for is often a very effective and quick way to get help to those who need it, so I'm happy to help - thanks for the recommendation. :)

See also: Every low/no code platform, GUI-based automation tools, Excel macros, proprietary scripting languages in enterprise software aimed at "business analysts," self-service BI tools. No one ever seems to learn that typing the code isn't the part you need lots of experience for.

Horses are a lot easier to understand and get along with once you get how that plays out for them. Always amazes me how willing they are to override their instincts for us, but the emotions are still there. Horses are super domesticated though, I'm guessing rabbits are less so?

Funny that he didn't have a problem with needing to ask Pax Klanq for space elevator assistance. I wonder why. Hmmm. It is a mystery.

On my second trip to Golgotha I picked up iron shank; I have made disease avoidance & early treatment a priority ever since. (Carbide Chef is pretty much a must-take imo, it's so useful. I sometimes grab Corpus Choliys early too, but prevention is better than cure!)

I love how different everyone's Qud experiences are; I have never gotten glotrot. I've had initial symptoms a couple of times but it's never progressed.

I'd like to imagine it took him this long to gain entrance to Grit Gate, at which point he spoke to the dreaded woman with technical skills and had a meltdown.

And yeah, the immediate physical feedback is a big part of why it feels satisfying and different.

Yup - I'm a dev professionally and a hobbyist artist, and my art is all non-digital. It's such a good break for my brain. I considered digital art for a bit but after watching a bunch of guides I realised it just felt too close to my job.

No one has time for this, but in the UK anyone with CCTV running - if requested - must provide you with a copy of footage you're captured in. I wonder how many
people would get sick of having a doorbell camera if they were flooded with subject access requests.
