All but about 200 pages are blacked out.
Gov. Greg Abbott Was Ordered to Release Some of His Emails With Elon Musk. Most Are Blacked Out.
Months after fighting to keep secret emails between Gov. Greg Abbott and Elon Musk, Texas officials released 1,400 pages of records. But they reveal little about the two men’s relationship or Musk’s influence over state government.

This is bananas, and utterly predictable considering at least half the people identifying as Christians are in it to feel superior to others and wield power over others.

I went to Mammoth Music and arts fest in Newport KY this weekend. It was a great time. I was impressed with how many different types of folks turned out. There were memaws, hippies, families with kids, and local music scene folks. Really wonderful to see so many folks enjoying each other's company.

In retrospect it was naive to think that knowing history would help humans avoid the same mistakes of the past today. An enduring feature of humanity is that there will always be people who strive to control, exploit, and oppress others. Time and progress are not linked.

I was honored to attend a Hindu engagement ceremony between a couple where one very Catholic Westside family came together with a Hindu family from Hyderabad. In this political climate people are still warmly embracing those who are different everyday. This regime cannot withstand us united.

Over the past few years, I’ve been fascinated with one of the largest federal investigations happening in Georgia, known as Operation Blooming Onion. So I partnered with Zaydee Sanchez to uncover the untold story of an unnamed victim at the heart of the case. 🧵

remember folks, we cant have gun restrictions because if we do the federal government will occupy our streets, imprison people without due process, ship dissidents to foreign gulags and things of that nature

Call it what it is. It's not a crime crack down. It's an unwanted military occupation of an American city.

I was thinking about how, men, when confronted with their family spinning out of their control sometimes murder everyone to ensure they cannot. And so anyway I think America is the family at risk of this.

I am just finishing with As I Lay Dying, and my god. Reading it reminds me that there's no recompense for families with a stupid patriarch. Anse Bundren has multiplied himself to such a degree that we're all getting our leg hacked off.

I keep thinking a lot can be explained about America by saying that Americans prefer living in fantasy than the messy and mundane real world.

I am constantly surprised at the lack of discussion around the role of algorithms in radicalizing people.

Social media would be better called antisocial media.

What's left once they've gorged themselves on cruelty? What is the next step when drinking the suffering of others cannot fill the void inside?

Easily the most predictable thing happened, these conspiracy theorists now in official government roles are suddenly no longer conspiracy theorists. It's almost as though they secured attention online cynically.

Conspiracists need to get cracking on their own conspiracy peddlers.

The BBB is a disaster. I think Republicans do not fear retribution from voters because the media environment ensures that they will never be held accountable. Bias for now will memory hole it. Fox News will never tell gramps Republicans took his healthcare www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
They Didn’t Have to Do This
By passing Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, congressional Republicans have talked themselves into an incomprehensibly reckless plan.

As a culture, we're fixated on what people say they are doing. Journalists should stop considering what people say, and rather focus on what they do.

Humans rarely tell the truth about themselves and what they're about. Watch their actions.

Sincerely, a survivor of epic gaslighting.

It's wild to me that Republicans once again ran on culture wars, and once again are cutting social services and giving more money to already rich people.

They've been on this since the 80's. They have no new solutions. Just be awful to brown people. Put down women. And reverse Robinhood.

Pete Hegseth saying his "war fighters" are primed for lethality is wild. Bro is bragging to Congress that he's gonna have Americans killing other Americans.

The most bananas thing about this admin is that it is every fever dream Ruby Ridge extremists have had rolled into one.

Kristi Noem is larping as a kids' movie villain. And her cartoonishness scrambles our responses to her objectively cruel policies and actions.

The worst thing religion has done to us is cultivate and support the belief that the only way humans can bring out their best is by coercion and suffering.

This belief sanitizes cruelty into piousness.

Most of us thrive when we're safe and supported.
