At this point, I'd just recommend all developers to disable comments. There is no reason to believe that this problem will go away any time soon. No one seems to be doing any meaningful work on it. No reason to keep yourself busy with deleting several spam comments a day. It's not worth the hassle.

I love a grumpy admin email that goes out well before the alleged infraction takes place. Even if every faculty and student shows up on the day of, they still get to be grumpy and spread their bad vibes. Truly a no-lose situation for them.

With the caveat that I’m only three hours into it, the writing so far is excellent.
