He is always “just asking questions”. He never has any solutions, he makes people question their reality. It’s a perpetual cycle.

Whilst I understand opposition politicians have more time, I feel PM Starmer is missing a trick by not at least trying these sorts of Q&As frequently.

Instead, this govt seems more focused on out-racing Farage and Reform than on delivering tangible benefits. If they only flank right, they risk letting Farage walk straight into No.10.

Why? Mobility creates opportunity. It helps young workers, boosts spending power, and grows the economy. Step-by-step pragmatism, but with an end goal in mind.

Policy example: I’d want local bus travel free (<90 mins). Not overnight, but step by step. 1) Subsidise under-30s. 2) Expand to under-35s with free under-25s. 3) Free for all.

My own stance: Left of Centre-Left. Not radical, not Green, but pragmatic. For me, pragmatism is a journey from A to Z. I’ll wait at point E if needed, but the aim is still Z.

Polls and focus groups can guide direction but are flawed. Bias, turnout, and misreads happen. If leadership leans on them too heavily, you lose vision.

Fact: McSweeney has been Starmer’s Chief of Staff since Oct 2024. Critics see his focus on polls/focus groups as dominating strategy.

I mean the whole operation. McSweeney needs to go for one. The Grid needs to be wiped and replaced with something a little more structured. Time is running out to win back voters who are beginning to turn away.
