We somehow managed to have an SMS and an NES before either really took off in the US. The SMS felt like the better console, even back then. Of course the market just pulled the NES in the direction it did and thus for years my memories are guided by what actually happened, not what should have.

Lets face it. If you are selling votes, you take those orders ... There was a high school helmet battle on Twitter many years back and it was ruined by private schools who only understand winning and influence. It didn't matter to them their helmets were mid. They brought the hordes to "win".

Has there ever been a bigger gap between critics and crowds?

I saw this over the weekend. Everyone under 13 stood up and applauded at the end of the film. My 20+ yo kids loved it. It was their childhood. I thought it was entertaining. I wouldn't confuse it with the Lego Movie or Barbie Movie in terms of being great - but it was entertaining AND loved

There was just so much we miss from the discipline of having to take time to work on an article and get it ready for the end of the day rather than publishing half-facts and asking questions later. There is a reason it takes TIME to put together a case before a judge or jury.

Rapid turnaround times for press stories and the competitive need to get what you have out as quickly as possible led to this. We make life altering decisions without all the facts.

Until people see dignity in all persons, including their enemies, we can't have much hope of getting people to care about "bad guys" getting shipped off without due process.

The Trump administrations move is a natural extension of what the people of this nation have been doing online for decades. It is clear that a lot of Americans do not have an appetite for their opponents.

And it is why French's statement "For most Americans, 'Defend due process or you’re next' is not a credible argument." is a wholly sobering thought.

It is a means to an end. That end is the destruction of elite universities. They see the tech-elite as the future and in terms of who is and is not elite, there can only be one and they see the Ivy League schools as makers of the traditional elite. They want it to be companies on a resume.

It is no mistake there is so much cash sitting on the sidelines right now. They are waiting for you to panic sell and / or completely fail so they can mop up at the bottom.

I would never confuse this movie with a great film but I thought it was very entertaining. So bad it's good is a good way to put it. Considering the target audience and the kids in the theatre applauded at the end where I live ... it will be a success for what it is.

It's kind of what school choice laws are nationwide. In my state I can take my kid out of public school and send him to a private school on the taxpayer dime. The schools, however, have complete control over who they allow in their school. No oversight. How is that not segregation?

A large %age of he American public have created a false dilemma in their mind between "common sense" and "education" -- sadly, we need to make the case for things we used to take for granted. Education is one of them. --- It's not just that though. Check and balances, rule of law, due process etc.

Wonder if he will buy other goods and services from every other company whose stock is shedding value right now or just those substantially owned by billionaires?
