Oh god, the world will always need a little Moira! Losing Catherine O’Hara is heartbreaking.

We danced in our kitchen this evening to beloved Blue Rodeo and Jim Cuddy songs.

Sweet mother of pearl, there’s nothing more Canadian or soul soothing.

If only more of the world could experience the joy. They’d understand our passion to protect our home.

@joe-scarborough.bsky.social, thank you for your exceptional coverage of Trump’s speech this morning at the World Economic Forum. Your interruptions were not disruptive, they were instructive. Every news organization covering Trump’s speeches live, need to follow your example. Well done.

I’m watching Trump’s speech. Is the record skipping? Or did someone hit replay?

Why is this not headline news? I hope the light of day tomorrow makes it so. My blood boils.

The only excitement I need is found on a walking trail.

A must, to clear my head from the chaos of doom-scrolling.

Can’t verify authenticity of photo, but, if so, welcome to your new autocracy, where dear leader’s picture is plastered everywhere.

During the Oval Office visit, I wish Prime Minister Carney was given the chance to dispel Trump’s outright lies, in particular, about the damn trade deficit.

Good grief, Trump’s the master of gobbledygook!

I read this. Twice. Powerful. Moving. Shared it with my wife and kids.
Message from Ukraine:
Thank you, Canada.
For being yourselves when so many others are trying to be worse.
You reminded us that we are not alone.
Because of you, this morning felt a little less like the end of the world.
And more like something worth staying alive for.

Here are my initial thoughts on the 2025 election - what it means for Canada in the short term and what it means for the movement of social democracy in the long.

I’m a proud Canadian and Meidas Touch is my default source for news.
The fight for democracy transcends borders. It's an honor to cover stories of resistance from our neighbors to the north. Thank you to @charlieangus104.bsky.social for this look into the ever-growing Maple Meidas movement in Canada. Elbows up! 🇨🇦

Went for a trek on the Laurentian Escarpment to clear my head before Trump’s 4 pm circus spectacle. Fittingly, I kept coming across wonky signs. Maybe it’s an omen.

“…tastefully vacillating the conversation between bowel issues and Trumpian politics.”

A partial sentence from my quirky, food-themed memoir, Broken Bread, published in 2020. (Based on living with celiac disease.)

I’d say, discussing bowel issues and politics go very well together, indeed!

It’s beyond time to admit that the US is no longer a functioning democracy.

It’s time for all US judges to stand together, unified, and demand that the Supreme Court take a stand. Their anointment of King Trump has to be either dissolved or formerly announced.

Enough, is enough.

For Trump’s Tuesday address, all democrats should wear a sash with the Ukrainian flag colours. Let the world know that there are still Americans that stand for Ukraine, and democracy.

My heart sank hearing Trump blame Ukraine for the Russian invasion. It’s obvious that this authoritarian-wannabe will allow Russia to take what it pleases, thus, allowing him to do the same with his expansionist dreams. As Canadians, we must prepare to fight like hell. Prepare, and pray for Ukraine.

@repjasmine.bsky.social I’m watching you on All In on MSNBC, and hope you’re able to carry through with setting up a daily briefing outlining the Trump-Musk atrocities. You are the perfect person to lead this initiative. I’m wishing you the best of luck.

My first post, so I’m not sure if this is the right place to share a little painting I did when Russia first invaded Ukraine. I’m terribly worried about the outcome.
