Bassist in The Walter Pistols. Former scientist, engineer, luthier, sheet metal fabricator and bottle-upper. Now just a curmudgeonly old eco-socialist that's good at mending stuff.
This is post-war British government 101. From 1945 to 1979, there were 17 years of Labour govt, 17 years of Tory govt, and they all diligently followed what would now be described as democratic socialist policies. I don't need to tell anyone what happened next, do I?

Laura Pidcock's a transphobe? I missed that, very disappointing if true. SCG is just a convenient way of finding 25 or so MPs that ought to be interested in an actual socialist party btw. Dennis because loads of people still regard him fondly, would obviously be just a symbolic supporter.

Corbyn's 2019 manifesto was more green than the Greens'. More ambitious, more investment, faster transformation and very detailed.

Exactly what I was thinking.

It would be great if you could get a few big name defections from Labour, especially SCG members, maybe starting with all those suspended. Surely they realise they will be deselected at the next GE anyway? Would love to see some former MPs onboard too, eg Laura Pidcock, Dennis S if he is well enough

Just stop saying "we" when you mean "I". Your attitude is the making of every kind of bigotry - characterising all people in a certain category as the same. You know nothing about me, you don't even know if I am a boomer. To answer your question, hundreds, none of whom are bigoted idiots like you.
June 10, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Which boomers do you mean? Starmer, Farage, or maybe Corbyn or Michael Rosen? Clarkson perhaps? Odd that you think everyone from a certain age group should stfu, even odder that you think you speak for everyone else. You really don't.

So hard to tell these days...

Is he one of Labour's new MPs for 2024? If so he'll be made a minister for that.

Many more than either half have already left in disgust. I did when he sacked RLB.

There's so much to say about this that I don't think I can possibly say it succinctly. So I will just say, given that choice, I would spoil my paper with the words "Neither of these candidates is an adequate candidate for this job." FWIW Starmer is definitely to the right of the pig botherer.

I think it would be best if, from now on, all such images were slightly amended, giving the perpetrator a daft little Hitler tache. People might start to understand then...
