Got up to Silverjack Lake, at 8450ft, for the first time today, north of Cimarron, CO. Absolutely gorgeous place, although in cattle ranch country, with the attendant flies. With @westernslopemike.bsky.social

Headed on from Taos. It was not as polished as I expected. Very hippy, dilapidated, shabby chic, and artistic. With @westernslopemike.bsky.social

Another little visited hiking destination on Memorial Day, into Maverick Canyon to Juanita Natural Bridge. Quite the adventure, with a river crossing & and traversing canyon walls, only 6 miles, but 5 hours of effort. With @westernslopemike.bsky.social

Hike into Sieber Canyon today for an amazing 100 ft long rock petroglyph panel. Fremont culture I think, 300 AD to 1300 AD. We counted 23 figures. Only 5.75 miles, but a tough 4 hours—no official trail, and 50 floors into the canyon & back out. With @westernslopemike.bsky.social
