Probably complaining about sports or wanting to talk about trains
I know everyone is posting their pictures, but this magnetic storm is nuts. Not only do I not have to drive into an empty cornfield to see these, but the red in first picture is visible to the naked eye.

My grandfather was a very quiet man. He was a Seabee on Iwo Jima after the US captured the island, but before it was cleared. For both me and my father, this book that was less about the tactics of battle and more what those on Iwo endured taught us so much about his dad/my Paw Paw

Felt like running trains after doing dishes. A K-4 Kanawha pulls a westbound manifest through (future) Barboursville as an H-4 mallet takes a string of empties towards St. Albans and down Coal River

As someone who's family made their living on coal, allow me to say, to hell with all of this. If using coal meant jobs, I might (emphasis on MIGHT) feel an iota differently, but it doesn't mean jobs. It is a system that is good for no one. And they won't sleep until all of Appalachia looks like this

Another test run with multiple trains running. Dead spots in the mainline taken care of. A view of what the layout will look like from my work bench. Added a few cars just to see the number of cars to switch on the layout in the future.

Big step with the Barboursville layout tonight. First test run this evening since foam was added. Need to fix one switch's track and add a few feeders for a dead spots, but really proud to see that Geep circle the layout for the first time.

I am doing my best to avoid the tiresome discourse everywhere. Right now has been listening to @shutdownfullcast.bsky.social fan faves Playlist and putting down foam for my next model railroad. Ready for drilling feeder wire holes this coming weekend

Any good hobby is helpful. There are so many things that I'm hearing that I have little to no knowledge of. Meanwhile, I'm in my basement like a content Reverend Lovejoy playing with my model trains. Find a good hobby and you will feel so much better that you otherwise would.

Decided to take out track I purchased to see how it would look on the hollow core door I purchased. Gotta say, for a simple, double-track, HCD oval layout, I really think I got a lot in this plan. Excited to get some foam to start creating some elevation and get things wired up.

I might have gone a little crazy, but I knew the only way I'd get out of a perpetual planning stage was just get the track. Now for the hollow core door and the electrical supplies and Barboursville, WV will be built before you know it.
